ONE-DAY FIELD TRIPS
To ensure that planning for your attendance on your preferred one-day
field trip is seamless, please read the following information carefully:
- All one-day field trips are scheduled for Thursday, 27
August, 2009.
- All one-day field trips, with the exception of the Rottnest Island
trip (Field Trip 7), are included in full-conference (SER
member, standard and student) registration fees. The associated
cost of the Rottnest Island trip for full-conference (SER member,
standard and student) registrants is to partly offset the significantly
higher costs of this trip.
- Lunch (or BBQ dinner on Field Trip 5) and refreshments
(morning and afternoon teas) will be provided on all one-day
field trips.
- Day registrants (who will be attending only one
or two days of the scientific program scheduled for 24 to 26 August
2009) will need to pay the full price (transport, meal, refreshments,
and entry fee/s) for each one-day field trip.
- Accompanying guests cannot attend the one-day
field trips.
- Registration for one-day field trips is required by 15
July 2009, using the conference registration form,
when available. Non-registration for a one-day field trip
will be implied as non-attendance.
- Late registrants (post 16 July 2009) will not receive a one-day
field trip option.
- Each one-day field trip has a pre-established minimum
and maximum enrollment. To ensure that you are given the
option of your preferred field trip, please register early.
Once a field trip reaches capacity, it will no longer be an available
option.
- Any trip for which minimum enrollment is not met by 17
July 2009 will be cancelled. At the discretion of the conference
organizing committee, registrants will be offered their next preference.
Updates on filled or cancelled activities will
be posted on the conference website under the Field Trips link.
- If you have selected Field Trip 7 or are a day registrant, and
your plans change, SER International 2009 will allow cancellation
of your field trip registration if done in accordance with the conference
registration cancellation policy. This policy stipulates that cancellation
must be submitted in writing to EECW to receive a refund, of any
level. Please read the cancellation policy at the end of
the conference registration form carefully.
- Dress Requirements for all trips:
- Enclosed, flat shoes (sports shoes or similar) - you will
be walking on uneven ground on some trips.
- Raincoat - if rain is forecast.
- A sweater/jumper - it can get quite cool.
PLEASE NOTE: ONE-DAY
FIELD TRIPS WILL NOT BE CANCELLED IF RAIN IS FORECAST.
